Nando’s to open a chain at Gatwick’s South Terminal in 2014

Nando's restaurant to open at Gatwick airportNando’s, a peri-peri chicken chain restaurant will open its first airport location at Gatwick’s South Terminal airport next year.

The restaurant will be operating about 20 hours a day, around 4am and 12am. It will serve breakfast, lunch and dinner.

The contract between Gatwick and Nando’s could be a start of a big change in the airport’s food and beverage services in South Terminal.

In relation to this do up, eight new restaurants in the North Terminal were launched in the past two years including Jaime’s Italian and Comptoir Libanais to YO! Sushi and new coffee shops like Starbucks and Pret a Manger.

Business development manager for catering at London Gatwick, Charlotte Christiansen, said: “We are thrilled that Nando’s will be opening its first airport restaurant at Gatwick this summer. Nando’s is a hugely popular brand with our passenger and it is quick, fresh and delicious. More than a third of our passengers told us they would like to see a Nando’s at Gatwick so we have acted on this.”

In a recent study, 33 per cent of passengers asked and proposed for the opening of Nando’s at Gatwick airport.
